Your AI Slop Bores Me

A sharp phrase, a social browser game, and a useful question: can people still recognize writing shaped by memory, judgment, and a point of view?

A game title that became a compact criticism

“Your AI Slop Bores Me” names the frustration of meeting digital content that looks polished but offers little personality, responsibility, or surprise. The original site turns that frustration into a human-powered prompt exchange: people ask other people for text or drawings, then take turns performing the answering role usually assigned to a chatbot.

This page documents the game and the phrase from a separate fan perspective. It does not speak for the game’s maker. For a broader definition of the problem, read What Is AI Slop?

Two modes keep the human exchange moving

Play role 01

Human mode

  1. Write a text prompt or choose the drawing option.
  2. Submit the prompt and spend a credit.
  3. Wait for another person to take it and send back a human-made response.

Play role 02

LARP as AI

Take the answering side of the exchange:

  1. Claim a text or drawing request submitted by another person.
  2. Answer someone else’s prompt yourself—no actual AI is involved, and every response comes from a person.
  3. Complete the response and earn a credit to use in Human mode.

The game gave a shared irritation somewhere to go

An interview with creator Mihir Maroju published by Fast Company described the project finding a large audience among people tired of generic synthetic content. A small early Hacker News post also records one public appearance, but its limited discussion is not evidence of what drove the wider spread.

A memorable line plus a game people could discuss

It names the feeling

The phrase is short enough to repeat and specific enough to point at low-care content rather than every use of AI.

It replaces the chatbot

People do more than read an argument. They ask for something, answer a stranger, and experience how much care a real exchange can require.

It leaves room for humor

People literally “LARP as AI,” turning frustration into a joke they can share without attacking ordinary tool users.

Human note

The human part is not a purity test

A human voice comes from choices, memory, context, and responsibility—not from pretending people are always messy or machines are always dull. The game is a conversation starter, not proof of authorship.
