This Privacy Policy explains how "Your AI Slop Bores Me" ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our website and services. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly.

Information We Collect

1. Voting Data

  • When you first vote, your browser creates a random browser ID that is kept in local storage and submitted with each vote to help limit duplicate voting.
  • The browser ID is not a browser fingerprint, and we do not claim that it is anonymous, hashed, or encrypted.

2. Comments

  • If you choose to leave comments on nominations, we store your comment text and an optional name you provide.
  • Comments are public and visible to all users.

3. Nomination Submissions

  • When you submit an AI product nomination, we collect the information you provide (title, description, URLs, etc.).
  • We also store the random browser ID with the submission to help prevent spam.

4. Analytics Data

  • We use Google Analytics to understand visits and how people use the site. Google Analytics may receive information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser details, and interaction data.
  • Time Signal does not currently send its ranking or identity fields as Google Analytics events.

5. Time Signal

  • Your Time Signal game progress is stored locally in your browser so you can continue later.
  • If you save a score, your public nickname and ranking records are visible to other players.
  • Your raw email is not stored in persistent browser storage and is used only to reconnect your records on this or another device. Your raw email stays during the request and any retry in the score form's memory, and a successful save clears the email field. The server turns the email into a keyed HMAC identifier. Your raw email is not public or stored in the ranking database.
  • Only an opaque signed token and your public nickname are stored in your browser for ranking identity. The token lets the server recognize later score requests without storing your raw email in the browser.
  • Public nickname and ranking records remain until you request deletion by emailing [email protected].

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the voting functionality
  • To prevent fraud and abuse of our services
  • To display user-generated content (comments, nominations)
  • To improve our website and user experience

Data Storage and Security

  • Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides enterprise-grade security.
  • We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
  • Time Signal signing keys, database credentials, and other server secrets are not sent to the browser or included in public ranking responses.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Supabase - Database and authentication services
  • Vercel - Website hosting
  • Google Analytics - Website usage measurement
  • Google AdSense - Advertising services
  • Google S2 Favicons - For displaying product logos (does not track users)

  • Request deletion of your data (where technically feasible)

Google Analytics, Google AdSense, and their partners may use cookies or similar browser technologies for measurement and advertising. Time Signal also uses browser storage for local game progress and the limited ranking identity described above.

Children's Privacy

A child should use the Time Signal score form only with an adult, parent, or guardian. If you believe a child submitted personal information without appropriate involvement, contact us so we can review and delete it.
